Right-click a video and convert it in Finder

Put Neocodec in Applications and open it once. macOS registers the Finder extension, and the Quick Actions menu gains seven conversion choices plus a separate Transcribe action.

1. Select the video

   Choose one or more video files in Finder and open the Quick Actions menu.

2. Pick a Neocodec action

   Choose H.264, H.264 Half, H.264 Hardware, AV1, VP9, GIF Small, or GIF Full.

3. Approve the handoff

   Confirm the selected files and format. Neocodec opens, queues the files, and shows each result.

Open Settings ▸ Presets to change a built-in preset's quality, scale, encoder choices, or frame-rate controls. The saved edit updates its app chip, Finder Quick Action, and command-line preset.

Neocodec marks an edited built-in as (edited) and offers Revert to Default. Custom presets stay available in the app and command-line tool, but they do not create extra Finder actions.

Settings ▸ Quick Actions lists all eight actions with separate switches. Turn any action off to remove it from Finder, and turn it on when you want it back. Your choices survive app updates.

Enable All in Finder restores the complete set. Refresh checks the current macOS state, and Open System Settings takes you to the Finder extension controls.

Finder shows the menu only for files macOS recognizes as video. Some MKV and WebM files may not trigger the extension even when Neocodec can convert them. Drag those files into the Neocodec window instead.

Trimming stays in the app. Finder Quick Actions convert each whole file. The app window is the right place for start and end times.
