What changed
- Finder handoffs support installations in your own Applications folder and longer account names. Delivery retries avoid starting the same request again, and multiple app instances no longer replace an active handoff connection.
- Expired trials show a consistent status. Check trial status can pick up a support-approved extension or restored trial access without restarting the app. The command-line tool can also recover after a verified update.
- The command-line tool can re-verify a saved paid activation after its offline allowance expires, without requiring the app to open first.
- A delayed licence refresh no longer overwrites a newer activation or trial decision. Reconnecting can recover trial access after correcting the Mac's clock.
- Transcription skips the conversion destination prompt. If saving fails, Neocodec keeps the transcript available for another attempt and warns before discarding it. Every prepared audio piece is checked against the upload size limit.
- Folder availability and transcription language controls follow the latest selection. Repeated transcript saves continue past 64 same-named files without overwriting earlier output.
- Administrator installation of the command-line tool checks both the application source and destination. Apps in your own Applications folder use the per-user Install action. Imported diagnostic history is no longer presented as verified app history.
Formats and privacy
The commercial edition converts H.264, AV1, VP9/Opus WebM, GIF, and M4A audio. H.265/HEVC input and output are not supported due to licensing restrictions. Conversion remains on the Mac.
Transcription is separate and optional. With your approval, Neocodec can send extracted audio or a whole video up to 100 MB to OpenRouter and the selected model provider using your API key. Neocodec requests no-retention routing but cannot verify that a provider honours the request.
