Neocodec 1.0.4
Safer Finder handoffs and more predictable command-line output.
What changed
- Fixed a Finder Quick Action issue that could open Neocodec without loading the selected video into the app.
- Strengthened validation between Neocodec’s Finder Quick Actions and the main app before selected files are accepted.
- Made command-line output safe and readable when filenames or errors contain unusual terminal control characters.
- Improved Quick Action registration checks so Finder uses the installed copy in Applications and stale copies are detected instead of silently taking precedence.
- Reduced debug metadata in the distributed app while retaining private crash diagnostics for support and maintenance.
Formats and licensing
This security and reliability update does not change the supported formats, the 14-day trial, or Neocodec 1.x licensing. The commercial edition converts H.264, AV1, VP9/Opus WebM, GIF, and M4A audio. H.265/HEVC input and output remain unavailable in this edition.
